Abstract

|
Pedicle screw placement is very useful and effective in deformity correction of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, but it is sometimes controversial due to the risks of possible related complications, including malposition, especially in the thoracic spine. We present an adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patient with symptomatic thoracic pedicle screw malposition after posterior deformity correction surgery whose symptoms improved immediately after revision surgery for misplaced screws, and we discuss the accuracy of thoracic pedicle screws in thoracic scoliosis surgery.
